Mediumship Readings: How Does the Connection Work?
A mediumship reading is based on listening, recognition and validation. Here is how such a reading unfolds, and what is important to know in advance.
How the reading unfolds
Liat does not perform any summoning ritual, and cannot promise in advance who will come through. She tunes in and describes what arises: impressions, feelings and details. You can read about the difference between a reading and a séance in the article What Is a Séance, and How Is It Different from a Mediumship Reading.
Recognition and validation
At the start of the reading, Liat seeks to recognize who is present and to make sure the connection is accurate, usually through details that only someone who knew the person could confirm: a name, character traits, a memory or something that happened. You have a part in this stage too. You are the one who checks what fits and what does not, and you can say when something is not accurate. Only when there is a sense of recognition do we move on to the messages.
The messages
The messages often touch on what you carry in your heart: longing, questions left open, words of love or farewell. Some come through clearly, while others need time to become clear. They are not a substitute for your own judgment.
Sensitivity and respect
This is a sensitive subject, so the reading moves at your pace, with respect for the feelings that arise and for the person who has passed. You are welcome to pause, ask a question or sit in silence for a moment.
What if someone else comes through
A connection with a specific loved one cannot be guaranteed. Sometimes someone other than the person you were expecting comes through, and sometimes the reading focuses on other matters. This is not a failure; it is part of how mediumship works in practice. You can read more about mediumship readings and readings with Liat.
